BAGUIO CITY –– A street sweeper has become the city’s 15th patient, who has contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), ending Baguio’s streak of zero infections since March 28.

The 47-year-old woman is employed by a barangay to clean streets in Scout Barrio village, but is a resident of Barangay Dagsian, according to the city public information office.

She was swabbed for a rapid diagnostic test on Maundy Thursday (April 9), and her confirmatory result was released on Good Friday (March 10).

The Baguio epidemiology team is tracking down people with whom she had interacted.

Nine of Baguio’s COVID-19 patients have recovered as of Thursday.
