Military’s alert status continues after Feast of Black Nazarene
MANILA, Philippines—The military’s alert status on terror threat remains in Metro Manila after the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said in an interview with 990 AM Radyo Inquirer on Tuesday morning.
He assured this even after the over-all assessment from authorities that the celebration has been generally peaceful and orderly.
Gazmin also clarified he was not referring to members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front as the group behind the terror plots in Metro Manila. “[Earlier reports] were not conclusive,” he said.
He admitted he is not still sure which group was behind the terror threats prior to and during the said celebration.
