LUCENA CITY –– At least three confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) carriers in Quezon province have recovered and tested negative of the disease, health authorities revealed Thursday.
In a 9 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) said that COVID-19 patients from Lucena City, Tayabas City, and Sariaya town have recovered, the first recorded cases of recovery in the province since the virus was transmitted here.
The report did not give details on the three former virus carriers in the record that listed 19 as of Wednesday.
With the recovery of the three patients and the death of the three others from in Unisan, Candelaria, and Infanta towns earlier, the number of COVID-19 carriers in the province is down to 13.
The remaining COVID-19 patients are in Lucena with six, Unisan – two, and one each in Tayabas City and the towns of Sariaya, Candelaria, Tiaong, and Sampaloc.
Meanwhile, Calauag town Mayor Rizalina Visorde disclosed on her Facebook page on Wednesday that an elderly woman resident, who recently died, tested positive of COVID-19.
