Watching from the grandstand

/ 07:46 AM January 10, 2012

If you want a seat in the grandstand to watch the Sinulog parade, less than 1,000 tickets are left.

As of 2 p.m. yesterday, only pink and green tickets for bleacher seats in both ends of the stadium in the Cebu City Sports Center were going for P500 each.

“Tickets are selling fast as we near the grand parade day.  We promise ticket holders that they will enjoy what they paid for,” said Ricky Ballesteros, Sinulog executive committee director.

Color-coded sections of the grandstand can comfortably seat 12,000 persons.

These are wide concrete step-bleachers, not numbered individual seats, so spectators should be ready to rough it a bit.

Tickets are for sale at the Sinulog Foundation office in the sports center.

Pink ticket holders occupy the side near the N. Bacalso exit while green ticket holders stay on the opposite end near the pool area.

A blue section is reserved for balikbayan visitors (tickets available at the Balik Cebu counter in Ayala Center) and a red VIP section with chairs is reserved for guests of the Cebu city government under the Mayor’s Office. Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
