3 Calabarzon cops infected with COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Three more police officers assigned in Calabarzon police have been diagnosed with the coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippine National Police (PNP) to 25.
PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said Wednesday that the latest confirmed cases are male police officers ages 26, 28 and 39.
Banac added that the PNP Health Service also documented 217 police personnel who are listed as persons under investigation (PUIs) for the infectious disease while 1,351 police personnel were considered persons under monitoring (PUMs).
The PNP also received medical supplies from the Department of Health on Tuesday to protect police frontliners during the coronavirus disease crisis, Banac said.
“PNP General Hospital under PBGen Herminio Tadeo Jr., Director Health Service received the medical supplies consisting of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), N95 and protective masks, alcohols, surgical gloves, and isolation gowns to be distributed to PNP frontliners which are essentials to their needs in this time of crisis,” Banac said in a statement.
