Give suggestions, not just criticisms, on COVID-19 response — Palace

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday called on the public to make suggestions, not just criticisms, on the government’s response to the health crisis the country is facing due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the public may direct their concerns to officials so that it would be addressed accordingly.

“Sana at this time of our crisis, yun pong mga pagpuna natin sa pamahalaan e wag na muna tayong maging masyadong mainit doon. Kumbaga, nakaraan na yon at ginagawan na ng paraan,” Panelo said in a virtual briefing.

(I hope that at this time of our crisis, those who criticize the government would stop being so heated about it. That is in the past and the government is already doing something about it.)

(Maybe it’s better to give suggestions instead. Whatever we see that does not seem right, let us know.)

Panelo noted that all proposals are being recommended to the President and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease.

(We appeal to our countrymen to let us know whatever problems you see. Let any Cabinet member you know or any local official and it will surely reach us and be addressed.)

(Whatever we criticize, let us just turn this into a suggestion so that we could help each other.)
