CITY OF CALAPAN – After the recovery of a one-year-old baby, a man tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Oriental Mindoro.
Governor Humerlito Dolor, said on Tuesday evening, that the new case, with local patient number 44, was a 44-year-old male from Puerto Galera town.
Two more persons under investigation (PUIs), tested negative of the disease.
Dolor said the man had no travel history outside Oriental Mindoro and has not interacted with anyone who was proven to have COVID-19 before he was confined.
His doctor said he was actually ready to be discharged anytime, and they were just waiting for the test result because his fever and cough were gone.
Contact tracing was already being undertaken.
Dolor said a confirmatory test would be conducted today, Wednesday.
The governor reminded the public not to panic, and follow the existing regulations instead.
Dolor said residents should observe strict home quarantine, physical distancing, mandatory wearing of face mask/cover and liquor ban.
He also reiterated the observance of assigned day for marketing and washing of hands with soap and clean water.
