MANILA, Philippines — As more and more of his men contract the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Metro Manila’s highest-ranking police official said he was coordinating with hospitals to accommodate police officers for mass testing.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas said on Tuesday that he was in talks with Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro to accommodate policemen at the newly established COVID-19 testing laboratory which is set to start operations soon.
Sinas said the city government was “supportive” of conducting tests for his men who had been manning checkpoints even without protective gear since the whole of Luzon was placed on lockdown last month.
To be given priority are NCRPO personnel considered persons under investigation or monitoring.
