MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake rocked Siquijor on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake struck at 8:30 p.m. at 40 kilometers northeast of Maria town.
Phivolcs said that the tremor was of tectonic origin, and had an 18-kilometer depth of focus.
The tremor was also recorded at Instrumental Intensity I in Sibulan, Negros Occidental.
No aftershocks and damage were expected, Phivolcs added.
