23 COVID-19 cases in PH in critical condition — Duque

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-three patients in the country are currently fighting for their lives as they battle against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Tuesday said that 23 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition while 39 others are experiencing severe symptoms.

Meanwhile, 274 COVID-19-positive patients are having mild symptoms.

Duque did not specify the location of the patients he mentioned.

The number of patients with recorded health status is low, Duque acknowledged, as the health department is still waiting for updates on the conditions of all the 3,764 COVID-19 cases in the country.

He assured that all patients are being taken cared of, and the Department of Health (DOH) is monitoring their health.

“Kakaunti pa lang ito kumpara sa mahigit na 3,764 na kasong naitala. Naghihintay pa tayo ng updates mula sa kalagayan ng kanilang mga pasyente,” Duque said in a virtual press briefing.

(The number is still low compared to the tallied 3,764 cases in the country. We are still waiting for updates as to the patients’ conditions.)

“Patuloy ang pagsubaybay ng DOH sa kanilang kalagayan,” he added.

(The DOH continues to monitor their conditions.)

The Philippines has so far recorded 3,764 cases in the country, with 177 deaths and 84 recoveries.
