MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Science High School  has agreed to open its Quezon City campus to patients and employees of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease announced on Tuesday.

“Kahapon nakatanggap ako ng magandang balita mula sa alma mater ko, ang Philippine Science High School, na pumayag na gamitin ang Quezon City campus para sa pasyente at empleyado ng Philippine Children’s Medical Center o PCMC,” IATF spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in a virtual briefing.

(Yesterday, I received good news from my alma mater, Philippine Science High School, that it has agreed to open its Quezon City campus to patients and employees of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center or PCMC.)

Nograles also recognized other schools which opened its doors for the frontliners combatting the coronavirus disease.

“Pisay is not the only school that has opened their doors and opened their arms for our medical frontliners; the nurses and health workers of Medical City, for example, have found a new home in La Salle Greenhills,” he said.

“May we all be inspired by their examples and open our hearts to those stricken by COVID-19 and those who care for them,” he added.

Several institutions have offered temporary shelter for health workers since public transportation is suspended while the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine is in place.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the extension of the  Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine until April 30, the IATF said.
