THE SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) climbed to the top of Bracket B after routing its opponent in last Sunday’s Men’s Open competition of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue.
SWU annihilated San Roque Football Club (SRFC) Arsenal, 10-0, to amass a total of nine points off three wins in four matches.
SRFC is at fourth place with six points after having won two of its four matches.
The other Bracket B match between Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) A and the Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) B was cancelled due to the Cebu City Marathon, which closed major roads, making it hard for some players to get to the playing venue on time.
In Bracket A, Crazy Horse improved its standings from fifth to third place after completing a 4-0 rout of Don Bosco (DB) Magone.
Crazy Horse, one of the favorites for the title, holds a 2-1 (win-loss) record and a total of six points.
DB Magone, on the other hand, dropped to sixth place with a win and two losses in three matches so far. The other match in Bracket A ended in a 1-all draw between Subangdaku Football Club (SFC) and DBUFC B.
