Easterlies affecting eastern section of PH, to bring possible isolated light rains

MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies are currently affecting the eastern section of the country, bringing cloudy skies with light rains, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

In its 4 p.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the easterlies, as well as localized thunderstorms, will bring partly to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Such conditions, weather specialist Samuel Duran said, are mostly expected in the eastern section of the country.

“Dahil din po sa northeasterly [surface] wind flow, asahan po natin sa Batanes at Babuyan Group of Islands ay possible magkaroon ng mga isolated light rains,” Duran said of the forecast over the aforementioned areas.

(Because of the northeasterly surface wind flow, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands are forecast to experience isolated light rains.)

Duran added that on Sunday, Tuguegarao City is expected to have temperatures ranging from 24 to 35 degrees Celsius, while in Metro Manila, hot weather is also expected ranging from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Warm climate is also expected in Puerto Princesa from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius, Legazpi City 25 to 31 degrees Celsius,  Laoag City 23 to 32 degrees Celsius and Baguio City 15 to 26 degrees Celsius.
