The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Friday said its Western Visayas office had assisted more than 1,200 foreign and local tourists stranded in Boracay and other destinations due to the Luzon-wide lockdown.

At least 873 of the tourists came from Boracay.

They were ferried via sweeper flights to Manila, Clark and Mactan, Cebu for their connecting flights. —Jerome Aning
