LIGAO CITY –– The Indian community in Legazpi City and Daraga town in Albay province donated on Thursday 10 sacks of rice to the local government of Camalig to distribute to their residents affected by the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo Jr. expressed his gratitude to the Indian nationals “for their unselfish contribution and support for the Filipinos” in a Facebook post.

“Mr. William Cu, the owner of the rice mill, have pledged to provide the rice, thanks to him,” Mariscotes said.

He said that in the second wave of relief distribution, all families in Polangui would again receive five kilos of commercial rice and other basic goods for consumption.

“The [other] businessmen in Polangui also pledged sacks of rice which will be distributed to the poorest families,” he added.
