LEGAZPI CITY –– The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Bicol will turn over P18 million worth of financial assistance to six government-operated hospitals in the Bicol region, Nelly Loyola, a PCSO official, said.
Loyola said the financial aid would be given in bank checks to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital in Legazpi City (P10 million), Eastern Bicol Medical Center in Catanduanes and Bicol Medical Center in Naga City (P2.5 million each), Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital in Daet, Dr. Fernando Duran Memorial Hospital in Sorsogon City, and Masbate Provincial Hospital (P1 million each).
Loyola said that financial assistance is meant to prevent and control the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The assistance will be used for the procurement of testing kits, reagents, medical and diagnostic equipment, personal protective equipment, and medicines for COVID-19 cases.
This will also cover the cost of laboratory, diagnostic procedures, and confinement of COVID-19 patients.
