A hospital in Barcelona, Spain gave credit to some of its support workers who are also helping with the battle against COVID-19, by dedicating a round of applause in their honor.
Sant Joan de Déu Hospital thanked its cleaning personnel, kitchen staff, security forces and others for continuing “to perform their tasks in exceptional circumstances,” as seen on its Twitter post last Friday, March 27. The hospital also captured a moment where some of the hospital employees began clapping upon the arrival of a cleaning personnel.
The cleaner looked taken aback when she paused in front of her cheering co-workers. She then expressed her gratitude through hand gestures until she was joined by another cleaning staff while their co-workers continued clapping .

Similarly, citizens from all over the world have been showing their support for their frontliners by applauding from their homes. In the Philippines, celebrities also dedicated a round of applause for healthcare workers and other frontliners to honor their service, such as Tim Yap, “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano and his son Gab, K Brosas and Dimples Romana.
