3 more PNP personnel diagnosed with coronavirus disease

MANILA, Philippines — Three more personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total count of cases in the police force to 10, PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said Wednesday.

Banac said the three new cases involved a 55-year-old policeman and a 45-year-old police officer who are both from Metro Manila and a 42-year-old policeman from Northern Luzon.

Also, the PNP recorded 152 police personnel who are declared as persons under investigation (PUIs) and 1,422 police personnel who are persons under monitoring (PUMs) for possible coronavirus disease.

Banac noted that PUIs and PUMs in the nation’s police force will undertake self-isolation at Kiangan Billeting Center in Camp Crame Quezon City and special care facilities and quarantine areas in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Other Police Regional Offices will also offer their quarantine areas and facilities for policemen who will be placed under self-quarantine.
