TUGUEGARAO CITY –– Patients infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Cagayan Valley have risen from 15 to 20 as of Wednesday (April 1), but six of them have recovered, said Dr. Leticia Cabrera, acting director of the Department of Health in Cagayan Valley.
The patients who healed are from Tuao, Cagayan; Alicia, Isabela; Tuguegarao; Nueva Vizcaya; and the fireman, the first COVID-19 patient in the region, she said.
However, five new cases were added to the COVID-19 list.
The first is a 35-year-old woman from Tuao, who was exposed to her husband. They both traveled recently to Hong Kong.
The second is a 71-year-old Filipino-American from Tuguegarao City, who flew from California on March 4, and who toured the Ilocos provinces on March 15 before he was admitted to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center on March 23.
The third is a 29-year-old hospital staff member from Isabela who worked in Tuguegarao.
The fourth is a 30-year-old man from Solano town in Nueva Vizcaya, and the fifth is a 53-year-old woman also from Solano.
