The Inquirer Group of Companies extends support to Covid-19 frontliners in the Philippines
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Inquirer Group of Companies (IGC) joined the private sector in responding to the urgent call to help our healthcare workers. In partnership with different organizations. The IGC donated protective acrylic boxes for intubation to Chinese General Hospital and Batangas Medical Hospital; PPE’s to RITM and East Avenue Hospital; and face shields to St. Luke’s Hospital and Bataan General Hospital. It also co-sponsored feeding programs for two barangays in Taguig.
Internally, it has extended support to all its employees and provided cash assistance for its frontline correspondents, guards, drivers, messengers, and newsboys.
In the first week of the quarantine period, inquirer.net immediately launched the Inquirer Covid-19 Info Desk to provide credible answers to people’s questions. The Info Desk also devoted a space called “How you can help” and shows a list of the urgent needs of different hospitals with contact details. The IGC also supported the red ribbon movement by encouraging the Filipino community to salute and show their gratitude to all frontliners by changing their profile pic to a red ribbon or to tie one at their gates.
The Inquirer Foundation supports our healthcare frontliners and is still accepting cash donations to be deposited at Banco de Oro (BDO) current account #007960018860 or donate through PayMaya using this link.
