46-year-old woman is 11th COVID-19 case in Valenzuela City
MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Valenzuela City jumped to 11 on Wednesday.
The newest COVID-19 patient is a 46-year-old woman with comorbidity, the local government unit said.
The patient, called “VC11,” was also diagnosed with pneumonia.
“Our Valenzuela City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) will do nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs to the family members and identified close contacts of VC11. Our CESU is closely monitoring all the cases and conducting contact tracing,” the Valenzuela City government said.
Previously, there were 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Valenzuela City.
The Department of Health on Tuesday reported that cases of COVID-19 in the country have surpassed the 2,000-mark, with 88 deaths and 49 recoveries.
