CABANATUAN CITY—The entire second floor of the city’s public supermarket was razed by an hour-long fire of still unknown origin at dawn on Wednesday (Apr. 1).
The blaze was ignited around 4 a.m. and was put out at 5 a.m., said Fire Chief Insp. Augustto Yalong, city fire marshal. No one was hurt.
The supermarket operated in an old two-story building at the intersection of four streets in the city.
Five fire trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) got help from four water tanks of the city government.
Fire trucks were also deployed by Palayan City, several towns and two electric cooperatives, according to the city information and tourism office.
Yalong said the city fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.
