MANILA, Philippines — Dentists from the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP) are offering free online dental consultations amid the enhanced community quarantine placed over Luzon and other parts of the country.

The UP Dental Alumni Association (UPDAA) said they are offering such services as they “recognize the need for quality dental consultation” during the pandemic-induced quarantine.

“Ang inyo pong dentista ay handang magbigay ng payo sa abot ng kanilang makakaya, upang matugunan lamang ang inyong partikular na ‘dental health concerns’ sa panahong ito na tayo sumasailalim ng ‘Community Quarantine,'” the group stated.

(Your dentists are ready to give you advice as much as they can, just to address your ‘dental health concerns’ amid this community quarantine.)

It is open to all and can be availed by posting on Twitter and tagging the account UP Dentista Para sa Bayan (@UPDentistaBayan) or by using the hashtag “#UPDentistaParaSaBayan.” The services are offered daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:0 p.m.

The dentist group, however, noted, that people with dental concerns should still personally go to their dentists once the enhanced community quarantine is lifted.

UP Diliman is also offering free Anti-Retroviral Treatment refills and other related services for its community members with the human immunodeficiency virus or HIV amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
