Zamora tests negative for coronavirus disease

MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced Wednesday that he tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Zamora posted on Twitter a document from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City which showed that he is negative for the disease.

“My COVID-19 test shows that I am NEGATIVE. Thank you so much dear LORD for this blessing,” the mayor said.

Despite having negative results, Zamora said he will continue with his self-isolation to comply with  Department of Health (DOH) protocols.

“As per DOH protocol, I will have to finish my 14-day quarantine. I am now on my 4th day and continue to feel perfectly ok,” he said.

Zamora began his self-quarantine on March 29, Sunday after being exposed to a patient positive for the coronavirus disease.
