Fire guts Pangasinan supermart during lockdown

DAGUPAN CITY –– The supermarket of a major Pangasinan shopping mall was gutted by a fire that flared up at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday (March 31).

The blaze at the CSI Mall in Lucao District had not been put out at posting time.

The Bureau of Fire Protection has not released an official report as of 1:30 p.m.

Fire trucks from Dagupan and its neighboring towns were deployed to fight the fire, which gutted the supermarket and the CSI department store.

The two-story CSI Mall is one of the oldest malls in Pangasinan. It is owned by the family of former Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez.

The city, like the rest of Luzon, is under lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.
