MANILA, Philippines—The Pasay City Regional Trial Court has submitted for resolution the motion of former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos asking Judge Jesus Mupas to inhibit from handling the electoral sabotage case.
Both the prosecution and Abalos’ camp agreed to resolve first the motion to inhibit before moving to resolve the other pending motions.
Abalos sought to inhibit Mupas, alleging that his emissary had asked money from them in exchange for a favorable action in his case.
Aside from the motion to inhibit, Abalos filed a motion to fix bail and another for issuance of a house arrest order.—Tetch Torres
