Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III found himself under fire for breaking strict quarantine protocols when he went with his expectant wife Kathryna at Makati Medical Center (MMC) on Tuesday night.
The excited father claimed he only learned about being positive for the coronavirus a few hours after arriving at the hospital, but admitted that he has been in isolation after being in contact with a colleague who got infected.
Netizens bashed Pimentel for exposing to danger MMC health workers and other patients when he stayed in the hospital’s delivery room complex.
Meanwhile, S&R supermarket revealed that the senator also went to its Bonifacio Global Center outlet in Taguig City on March 16, when he was already under quarantine.
Pimentel has apologized, but still tried to justify his actions by saying that the quarantine protocols may have “changed over time.”
