MANILA, Philippines — Instead of being in his hometown of Davao, President Rodrigo Duterte turned a year older on Saturday while on self-quarantine in Malacañang.

In photos provided by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Facebook, it showed the now 75-year-old President having his breakfast in Malacañang during his special day.
“Dahil home quarantine si Tatay Digong, di muna sya maka almusal sa paborito nyang karinderya sa Davao! STAY at HOME si Tatay digong sa Birthday nya!” Go stated on his post.
(Because Digong is under home quarantine, he can’t have his breakfast in his favorite eatery in Davao! Digong will stay at home on his birthday!)
Previously, Duterte was advised by his doctors to undergo self-quarantine as he was exposed to Cabinet members, who were likewise exposed to a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient.
And what was the President’s birthday wish for his 75th birthday?
“Isa lang wish nya sa birthday nya. Stay at home kayo lahat! manatili sa inyong tahanan!” Go wrote
(He only has one wish for his birthday, for all of you to stay at home! Let’s not leave our homes.)
