2 nabbed after motorcycle hits checkpoint in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY –– A motorcycle driver and his back ride companion were arrested by police operatives on Friday night after ramming a barricade of an enhanced quarantine checkpoint in Daraga town in Albay province.

Arrested were the driver Anthony Aranil, 26, a resident of Barangay Namantao, and Danilo Berzuels, 22, of Barangay Anislag, a police report said.

The suspects, who were reportedly under the influence of liquor, were on board a motorcycle negotiating the national road in Barangay Villahermosa at 8:35 p.m.

The investigation said the driver lost control of his bike and hit a police barricade that serves as a control point for the checkpoint in the said village.
