3 villages in Legazpi City on lockdown as Bicol registers 3 COVID-19 cases

LEGAZPI CITY — Three villages in this city were placed under total lockdown on Friday night after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed three coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Bicol region.

Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal said they will not allow the entry and exit of people in Barangay (8) Bagumbayan, (13) Ilawod West and (14) Ilawod.

Rosal has ordered the disinfection of the areas.

The DOH earlier confirmed that the COVID-19 positive cases are PH763, a 48-year-old woman who was confined at the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City and male patients PH765, a 50-year-old and PH766, a 53-years-old. Both patients are admitted to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) in Legazpi City.

Rosal confirmed that an American citizen who arrived in the city consulted at the BRTTH after complaining of coughs and had his swab test.

“[He] rented in Barangay 13 and now we were able to locate him in an apartment in Barangay 8,” Rosal said in a Facebook post.
