QC cases of COVID-19 reach 104

MANILA, Philippines — The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have breached the 100th mark, with a total of 104 reported cases as of Friday.

The Quezon City government recorded seven new cases as of 7 p.m. of Friday from barangays E. Rodriguez, San Roque, New Era, Pasong Tamo, Teachers Village East and Teachers Village West.

Three new fatalities were also recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 17.

No new recorded recoveries in the city, thus the number remained at nine.

A total of 56 barangays in Quezon City have so far been affected by COVID-19, 16 of which have been placed under “extreme enhance community quarantine.”

The city government has disinfected a total of 119 barangays in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.

Four markets located in Galas, Kamuning, Roxas, and San Jose have likewise been disinfected.

The local government has distributed a total of 730,00 food packs to its residents to help in their daily needs while the quarantine period is in effect.
