NDRRMC convened for Black Nazarene procession in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin convened several government agencies under the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) this Monday for the security plans for the Black Nazarene procession in Manila.

The meeting at the NDRRMC headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City began promptly at 8:30 a.m., half an hour after the scheduled start of the procession that will take the Black Nazarene image through Manila roads to its final destination in Quiapo Church.

President Benigno Aquino III on Sunday spoke of a terrorist threat to the annual feast which draws millions of devotees.
