Korean national arrested for evading Albay quarantine checkpoint

LEGAZPI CITY  – An elderly Korean national was arrested on Thursday night for disregarding a police checkpoint in Ligao City,  Albay amid the enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.

Arrested was Lee Sug Sang, 64, a supervisor of a trading corporation in Ligao City and currently residing at Barangay (village) Bonga.

The report said the Korean national, while driving his Isuzu Trooper wagon, deliberately ignored police operatives manning a checkpoint stationed at Barangay Calzada at around 6 p.m.

Authorities eventually cornered an arrested him in Barangay Bonga.
