CITY OF MALOLOS–A 60-year-old woman was the third patient in the province to die of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), local officials said.
The woman, who was from City of San Jose del Monte, underwent laboratory test at the Research Institute for Tropical Management (RITM) on March 14 and died the following day, according to the provincial health office (PHO).
Details on how the patient contracted the virus were not immediately known.
Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, director of Bulacan PHO, said the RITM result was only released on Thursday, prompting the Department of Health to announce that the patient died of COVID-19.
There are nine other COVID-19 cases in Bulacan.
Latest records from the PHO showed that Bulacan now has 266 active Persons Under Investigation or PUI, 58 of whom were already cleared. The province also has 1,491 Persons Under Monitoring or PUM, 599 of whom were cleared.
