Quezon acknowledges 4th COVID-19 case, man who had been to Manila

LUCENA CITY—The fourth confirmed COVID-19 case in the province of Quezon was acknowledged by authorities on Thursday (March 26), bringing the count to four.

The Integrated Provincial Health Office said in a 2 p.m. report that the latest case was that of a 69-year-old man from the town of Sampaloc who has traveled to Manila, a COVID-19-infected place.

The patient fell into the category of persons highly vulnerable to COVID-19 as he was known to have hypertension and diabetes.

The man is now confined in an undisclosed hospital and in stable condition.

The health office also listed 136 persons under investigation, or those with symptoms, an increase from Wednesday’s 112.

Two deaths were also listed as possibly due to COVID-19 but could not be confirmed because the patients, while with symptoms, died without knowing the results of tests made on them.
