MANILA, Philippines — A public high school building in San Juan City will soon be converted into an isolation facility for persons under investigation (PUIs) of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the San Juan government said Thursday.
San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said they will sign a memorandum with the administrators of Xavier School to put up a 100-bed quarantine facility at an unattended building of the San Juan City Science High School.
“The still unused new building of the San Juan City Science High School will be converted into the 100-bed isolation facility for PUIs of the city of San Juan and as a staging area prior to admission to San Juan Medical Center once confirmed positive for COVID-19,” he said in a statement.

The Xavier School Community will also aid in equipping the isolation facility with hospital beds, mobile x-rays, medical supplies, medicines, medical personnel, food, and other essentials.
Currently, San Juan has 57 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease.
The city also recorded 222 persons under monitoring and 102 persons under investigation.
