“Presently, all our designated COVID wards are full; our healthcare team is depleted, and we don’t have enough test kits and Personal Protective Equipment,” the hospital administration said.

“Although we are devoted to delivering the best medical care, we also have to ensure that there are available and adequate facilities as well as available able bodies to do such jobs,” the CGHMC added.

“After all, admitting patients without the necessary equipment and manpower may subject patients to more harm than good.”

The move comes as other hospitals, such as St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City (SLMC-QC), St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City in Taguig City (SLMC-GC), and Makati Medical Center have announced that they will no longer accept COVID-19 patients as their facilities have reached “full capacity.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Philippines has a total record of 552 cases for COVID-19, including 35 deaths and 20 recoveries.
