Extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) is being implemented in Barangays Tandang Sora, Kalusugan, Ramon Magsaysay, Maharlika, Tatalon, Batasan Hills, Pasong Tamo, Central, San Roque, Paligsahan, Bagong Lipunan sa Crame, and South Triangle.

“EECQ will be implemented in barangays with two or more confirmed cases located in different streets and/or in congested urban poor areas where fast transmission of the disease is highly possible,” the LGU said in a bulletin sent to the media, adding that the imposition of the EECQ is subject to daily review depending on the number of cases and recoveries.

The LGU explained that Barangay Central does not have any COVID-19 patient but is also placed under EECQ due to the presence of numerous hospitals along East Avenue.

Aside from this measure, the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office together with the Quezon City Fire Department continuously disinfects streets and highways.

Around 379,000 food packs have also been distributed to families affected by the quarantine. The local government also provides free transportation services to its health workers and frontliners.

It has also identified quarantine facilities, including the Quezon City University, and has provided temporary sleeping quarters at the Quezon City Hall for employees who can no longer go home.
