Tagle to lead healing prayer from Vatican on March 25

MANILA, Philippines — Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, former Manila archbishop, will lead the faithful in praying the rosary for the healing of the world on March 25.

In a Facebook post, the Manila Cathedral said Tagle, now in the Vatican serving as prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, would lead the praying of the rosary live from the Pontificio Collegio Filippino in Rome at 9 p.m. (local time).

“The Healing Rosary for the World,” an initiative of the Manila Cathedral, will be done every Wednesday night.

The post said the move was due to the overwhelming number of Filipinos who joined the worldwide rosary prayer recently.

The faithful will be able to pray with Tagle via livestream on the cathedral’s Facebook page.

On the same day, the Philippine Catholic Church, heeding the call of Pope Francis, set a simultaneous saying of the Lord’s Prayer as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a circular issued on Monday, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines affirmed its participation in the worldwide prayer.
