Sorsogon gov to officials: Don’t give quarantine passes to PUIs, PUMs

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero has ordered all town and village officials to avoid giving quarantine passes to persons under investigation (PUI) and persons under monitoring (PUM) for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an executive order signed on Tuesday, Escudero said the PUIs and PUMs should not go out of their houses until the expiration of the 14-day quarantine period.

Any person who violates the order would be penalized according to the provisions of “Patient’s Dishonesty Ordinance,” which requires all persons to be honest in giving information to health authorities.
