3 held for hoarding, selling overpriced alcohol in Bulacan

Police arrested three suspected alcohol hoarders during an entrapment operation in San Rafael town.

CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan –– Police arrested three suspected alcohol hoarders during an entrapment operation in San Rafael town.

Investigators identified the suspects as Marvin Verdillo, Jose Rafael De Guzman, and John Patrick Enriquez.

Police said the three were caught selling overpriced isopropyl alcohol to an undercover agent in Barangay Caingin about 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The suspects reportedly sold one liter of isopropyl alcohol at P220 per container when it should be sold between P125 to P130 only under the current price ceiling.

The undercover agent had to pay P16,060 for 73 containers of alcohol offered by the suspects.

Charges for hoarding, profiteering, and overpricing were filed against the suspects.
