MANILA, Philippines — Seven hundred fifty-nine individuals were arrested in Manila City for violating the city government’s curfew ordinance during the ongoing enhanced community quarantine imposed in the entire Luzon.
Data from the Manila Police District (MPD) showed that from March 16 to March 24, most of the violators were arrested by members of Sta. Ana police station with 82 apprehended individuals.
Meanwhile, 11 are detained Balut police station; three in Sta. Cruz police station; 67 in Sampaloc police station; four in Ermita police station; two in Jose Abad Santos police; and one in Malate police station.
The Manila City government implemented curfew hours from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. to require citizens to stay in their homes and stop further community transmission of the coronavirus disease.
Under the ordinance, individuals who will violate the curfew ordinance will face a fine of at least P5,000 or imprisonment of not more than one month.
