TARLAC CITY–Two more patients under investigation (PUI), or those with symptoms of COVID-19, in the province died in hospitals on Monday (March 23), local officials said.
The two new deaths brought to eight the number of fatalities involving PUI in the province, said Arvin Cabalu, provincial information officer.
As of Monday, 13 of the 49 severe PUI in the province already tested negative for COVID-19.
Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap said the PUI from Sta. Ignacia town, who also died, had already tested negative for the disease.
The results of tests done on the other seven PUI fatalities have yet to be released by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.
Tarlac province now has 242 mild PUI cases and 9,035 persons under monitoring, or those without symptoms, who are all on home quarantine.
Yap said the provincial government will distribute personal protective equipment, face masks, gloves and thermal scanners for the safety and protection of health workers on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.
