Regular Quezon City workers to get cash benefits

Here’s good news for regular employees of the Quezon City Hall: The city government has ordered the release of additional cash benefits starting this month.

According to Mayor Herbert Bautista, regular workers will receive an incentive pay representing 50 percent of their monthly salary. On top of this, employees with top performance marks will receive a productivity incentive of P2,000 each.

To top it all off, a uniform allowance of P4,000 each will be allocated to regular employees.

The benefits were listed in a memorandum circular issued recently by Bautista who said he had ordered the city budget department to prepare for the release of the cash benefits on time.

According to Bautista, the additional incentives will also be received by the city’s elected officials, including the P2,000 productivity pay.

Meanwhile, employees on extended leave or under preventive suspension will not benefit from the cash gifts.

This also applies to those who were suspended for more than

60 days within the second half of last year, he added.

On the other hand, the bonuses will be given out to contractual

employees who reported for work from the first working day of

January 2011 until the last working day of December 2011 provided they obtained a satisfactory performance rating during the whole year.

Nonregular employees such as consultants may also receive a service reward pay of P2,000 if they rendered four months of continuous actual service with pay from the second half of 2011 and remain under contract with the city government as of January 2 this year.
