Torrijos town resident is Marinduque’s first COVID-19 case

SAN PEDRO CITY-The island province of Marinduque confirmed its first case of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Monday (March 23).

The municipal health office of Torrijos confirmed that one of its residents tested positive for the virus.

In an online advisory, the health office said the patient traveled from Metro Manila and arrived in Marinduque last Mar. 12. The patient began to show symptoms and was admitted to the Marinduque Provincial Hospital two days later.

The patient is currently on home quarantine. No one else in the patient’s household has shown symptoms but local health authorities continued contact tracing.
