Despite evidence that seems to point to suicide, the police have not discounted foul play in the death of a financial executive on Wednesday night in Pasig City.
Case investigator Police Officer 3 Melvin Mendoza told the Inquirer that there was a possibility that Mark Oliver San Pascual, 30, might have been killed although at press time, no motives have cropped up.
According to the police official, this was based on interviews with the victim’s driver, Simeon Pagdanganan, who said that his employer was happy and upbeat and did not show signs of depression before his death.
The victim worked for the Legaspi branch of UnionBank in Makati City.
“[Pagdanganan] said that his employer had no problems. He was a happy person,” Mendoza said.
He added that he was still waiting for the victim’s wife, Katrina, to talk to probers.
“She might shed light on the case but as of now, she is still in a state of shock,” Mendoza said.
San Pascual was found dead in a condominium unit owned by his sister on Ortigas Avenue with a gunshot wound in the chest. Beside him was a .45-cal. pistol.
