MANILA, Philippines — As the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean continues to affect the country, residents of Luzon can expect hot and humid weather in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a weather update on Monday, Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren said the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley will have fair weather with only a slight chance of rain.
For Tuguegarao City, hot weather is expected with its temperature ranging from a low of 23 degrees Celsius to a high of 36 degrees Celsius.
In Baguio City, the temperature will range from a minimum of 16 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius.
Laoag City, meanwhile, will have a minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius.
Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have hot and humid weather especially at noon but with a chance of rain later in the afternoon and evening,
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from a low of 24 degrees Celsius and a high of 34 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, generally fair weather is expected in Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours with the possibility of isolated rain showers later in the afternoon and evening, according to Pagasa.
No weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next two to three days.
But Pagasa, Clauren said, will monitor a cloud cluster outside of PAR in the coming days as it may bring possible light to moderate rains to Mindanao.
No gale warning raised
Pagasa said Northern Luzon will have light to moderate east to southeast winds and slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal waters.
The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have light to moderate east to northeast winds with slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal waters, Pagasa said.
