LIGAO CITY, Philippines — The city government of Ligao has opened the newly-built satellite market situated in Nasisi village in order to avoid overcrowding in the public market in city center.
“It is one way of preventing the possible spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among residents,” Ligao Mayor Patricia Gonzalez- Alsua said.
She said the market, which is open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., would serve all the barangays in the Mayon Unit of the city.
“Rent for the stalls are free for the meantime,” Jurlan Buello, Association of Barangay Captains Federation President, said.
Marketgoers from neighboring towns of Oas, Guinobatan and Polangui could also visit and buy their needs from rice, vegetables, fruits, fish, and meat in order not to crowd the market in the city.
