DOH Secretary Duque tests negative for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Health Secretary Francisco Duque III tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Lumabas na po ang resulta kagabi at ito po ay negatibo,” said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in an interview on DdzB on Sunday.
(The results were released last night and it was negative.)
Duque was placed on self-quarantine on Wednesday after being exposed to a senior health official who tested positive for COVID-19.
“He’s still at working at home. Siya ay nasa maayos na kondisyon at wala siyang nararamdamang sintomas,” Vergeire said.
(His condition is okay and he is not experiencing any symptoms.)
The 63-year-old Duque is asthmatic and hypertensive, making him more vulnerable to the virus.
As of Sunday morning, the Philippines has 380 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 25 deaths. Fifteen patients have recovered from the disease.
