Masbate gov suspends payment of power, water bills

LEGAZPI CITY –– Masbate Governor Antonio Kho has ordered the suspension of collection and payment of bills of power and water utilities in the province amid enhanced community quarantine in Luzon due to the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In an executive order, Kho said the payment collection of the Masbate Electric Cooperative, Masbate-Mobo Water District and Aroroy Water District would be suspended from March 21 to April 30.

Kho said consumers should not be charged interests and penalties for unpaid bills.

The order also emphasized that the utility offices should not terminate electricity and water services to all households and consumers.
